Its just shallow generic fantasy action in a Fate setting. Still pretty enjoyable - its worth the watch if you are already a Fate fan.

Ill start by saying yes it is absolutely worth watching.

Is fate worth watching. And then you can watch Unlimited Blade Works 2014 as a decent sequel to FateZero. The Fate anime series the unlimited blade works as the direct sequel to fatezero picking up ten years after a heavenly reward. FateZero is the prequel to FSN so its recommended watching that way.

The only part of Fate worth watching is FateZero but even at that there are better anime than FateZero you could be watching. The original 2006 adaptation of FateStay Nights not really worth watching. The pacing dialogue character development sound plot are all poor.

If you want to follow the proper order you should watch first FateZero then FateStay Night UBW from ufotable not the movie version and finally the movie FateStay Night. After that you can watch FateZero which totally blows the 2006 version out of the water and makes all the BS that you had to go through totally worth it.
